Q. Exactly how do reverse auctions work?

A. Registered users place bids on selected items offered by UnikBid through a ?sealed bid? process. Their aim is to place the lowest unique bid. Every auction is limited to a specified number of bids (e.g. maximum 100) or a time limit. As soon as that limit is reached, the auction automatically closes. After the auction has closed, the winning bidder then purchases the item from UnikBid for the lowest unique amount they have bid.

Q. Show me an example of how reverse auctions work?

A. For Example A Reverse Auction Might Have The Following Characteristics? Auction Product: Xbox 360 Bundle Maximum Number Of Bids p: 100 Regular Retail: $499.00 Assuming that the following bids (in increments of 10 cents) are received: Bid 1: $0.10 Bid 2: $0.10 Bid 3: $0.20 Bid 4: $0.20 Bid 5: $0.20 Bid 6: $0.30 Bid 7: $0.40 Bid 8: $0.50 Bid 9: $0.50 Bid 10: $0.50 ?Then the bidder that placed Bid 6 would win the auction and purchase the Xbox 360 for 3p, because it is the lowest unique bid that has been placed.
